Title:Miocene Rock & Roll: Exceptional preservation of a Gastrochaeonolites-Trypanites ichnoassociation reveals aragonitic coral substrate
Abstract

This study reveals an exceptionally preserved Gastrochaenolites–Trypanites ichnoassociation, providing rare insight into the bioerosion processes and fossilization of aragonitic coral substrates in Lower Miocene coastal environments. By preserving delicate boring structures and coral microfeatures in remarkable detail, the research offers an exciting window into ancient marine ecosystems and enhances our understanding of how biological and geological processes interact to create extraordinary fossil records
