Remarks: This new ichnofamily is established in accordance with ICZN (1999, Art. 10.3) with Osteichnus as its type ichnogenus. It comprises all non-branched borings in bone substrates irrespective of their orientation, i.e., it does not include traces of biting or other types of bioerosion.
