Gitonia sipho is junior synonym of Palaeosabella prisca according to Wisshak et al., 2019a Examination of Clarke’s (1908) type material of G. siphon will show whether it belongs to Palaeosabella Clarke, 1921 or to Trypanites Mägdefrau, 1932.
